In this paper, we discuss the need for Real-World Evidence (RWE) and Federated Data Networks (FDN) in addressing key research questions of interest to healthcare decision makers. Executing a systematic literature review, the paper provides an overview of the types of research questions that FDNs can solve, and why further investment in FDNs like HONEUR is needed. It was accepted by Value in Health in April 2022 and is available online.
